Welcome
Hello, and thank you for coming to my site! My name is Jeremy Roselle and, for over ten years now, my goal has been to make great-fitting, well-made hoods for hawks and falcons. I started my journey using raw-yet-proven Indian patterns for some of my early hawks and falcons, which proved to be a lesson in frustration that unfortunately resulted in poorly fitting hoods. I then purchased the second set of a now-popular commercial hood block. After struggling with the first few hoods, I had the opportunity to travel 300 miles to learn the craft first-hand from a well-known hood and block maker. He was extremely helpful in my early development, and it was off to the races from there! In addition to fulfilling many custom orders, I also began making hoods for two major falconry catalogs.
After several years of this type of business, I had the great fortune of learning to refine my skills under a true master of hood-making here in the Pacific Northwest. I learned how to cut the hood for a custom fit, as well as how to pay great attention to the beak opening. A great-looking hood that has that real "finished" look is truly a sight to behold. For falconry, it is also important that the hood goes on and comes off easily, that a bird can pass small castings through it, and that it lasts for more than a few seasons. As such, I make sure that each of my hoods incorporates all of these features in one beautifully handcrafted package.
I hope you enjoy browsing my site! If you have any questions about my hoods or about hood-making in general, please feel free to contact me.
Best wishes and great hawking.
